Call for Papers for Robert Grosseteste, His Thought and Its Impact, 17-19 July 2009

The International Grosseteste Society and Bishop Grosseteste University College are pleased to announce an interdisciplinary conference which will bring together those interested in the work and influence of Robert Grosseteste (d. 1253), Bishop of Lincoln and one of the great scholars of his age. A polymath, Grosseteste's written output embraced theology, philosophy, pastoral care, scriptural commentary, Greek translation, science and literature, and exerted a correspondingly wide influence on subsequent writers. Papers on any aspect of Grosseteste's life, works or influence are welcome as are papers dealing with his peers, correspondents and pupils or the milieu they shared.

Proposals for 40 minute papers or enquiries should be directed by November 1st 2008 to Dr Jack Cunningham , Bishop Grosseteste University College, Lincoln LN1 3DY, UK. Proposals should be 300-400 words in length and should include your name, contact address or email and your academic affiliation (if any).
